We are seeking an experienced Satellite Communications Team Lead to join our UK team at MDA. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the communications systems team based across our UK sites.

About the Role

The Communications Systems Team Lead will be responsible for ensuring that MDA's UK programmes are appropriately resourced with communications systems engineers. This includes mentoring, coaching and development of systems engineers, performance reviews, recruitment, and ownership of the communications systems engineering process.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical inputs on cost and planning for bids and proposals
  • Manage the communications systems engineering team
  • Mentor and coach systems engineers
  • Perform performance reviews
  • Recruit new team members
  • Own the communications systems engineering process
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 15+ years experience in systems engineering in satellite or other telecommunications industry
  • 5+ years as lead systems engineer/architect in telecommunications projects
  • Good general understanding of radio frequency telecommunications equipment (software, electronics, ASICs and FPGA)

Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum.
