Job Title: IT Project Manager - Rail Industry Expert

Job Type: Flexible working - hybrid potential - 3 days in the office after completed probation

Salary: £60 to £70k

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join our client's growing organization in Greater London. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful and timely fulfillment of customer projects involving software development and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Ensure customer concerns and queries are addressed in a timely fashion, liaise with other internal stakeholders to progress outstanding issues, and effectively communicate relevant information to parties (customers, internal stakeholders, sub-contractors).
  • Contract Management: Develop thorough contractual understanding of existing supply contracts and general contractual requirements, ensure existing supply projects are executed in accordance with contract, and ensure that all works fall within the contract requirements.
  • Technical Management: Maintain awareness of industry developments, interface with technical experts within customer organizations, and monitor and manage project budget.
  • Commercial Management: Approve invoices from sub-contractors, determine relevant costs, and work with bid management to prepare and submit commercial offers for opportunities that may arise.
  • Site Management: Coordinate site construction, manage necessary subcontractors for installation and commissioning activities, and ensure timely preparation of any necessary method statements and construction health & safety documentation.
  • Resource Management: Identify resource requirements in good time, create work packages, and apply for resource from the correct department or subcontractor.

Desirable Skills:

  • Project Management Qualifications: Degree or qualifications related to Project Management - Agile and PRINCE 2 would be highly desirable.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in Project Management within Transport/Rail/Engineering.
  • Software Delivery Focus: Software Delivery focused PM experience rather than Hardware.
  • ITSO Requirements: Demonstrable understanding of ITSO requirements and application.
  • International Experience: Previous exposure to a National/International Projects related role.
  • Personality: Resilient and tenacious personality.
