Your New Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead our project management team in overseeing highway projects efficiently and cost-effectively. This is a contract role paying a day rate of £300 - £350.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor project costs, providing regular reports and identifying cost-saving opportunities and evaluating risk.
  • Lead the procurement process, evaluating and recommending subcontractors, and managing supplier contracts.
  • Evaluate and recommend subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers and manage supplier contracts and relationships.
  • Work closely with project managers, highway engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Proficient in conducting quantity take-offs, preparing bills of quantities, and monitoring variations to the contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience leading a team throughout a project from start to finish.
  • Strong skills in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with the ability to administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Previous experience in subcontract management.

The ideal candidate will lead and demonstrate relationship building skills, diplomacy, and a willingness to complete the project to a high standard and within the timeframe.
