The Role – Procurement Specialist

Fresh People is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our client, a leading Fresh Produce Global Business, based in Maidstone. The successful candidate will work 5 days a week, with occasional weekend support, to maintain relationships between Growers and operational teams.

The Person

We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of Fresh produce, FMCG, or Food Manufacturing. In this role, you will assist the Commercial Managers with all aspects of supply chain management, leveraging your procurement, supply chain, or sourcing expertise.

The Job Requirements

  • Assist the Commercial Managers in running an effective supply chain, ensuring seamless communication with Growers and operational teams.
  • Set up Purchase Orders in the Prophet ERP system for all arrivals, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Build and maintain supplier load plans, making adjustments as required to maximize service levels.
  • Liaise with Growers to confirm volumes, arrival dates, and varieties loaded, ensuring accurate data management.
  • Collaborate with the logistics and planning team to maintain accurate stock positions for all products, ensuring efficient inventory management.
  • Update and maintain master arrivals data, assisting with the preparation of season reviews to inform business decisions.
  • Provide weekly pricing and costing models in a timely and accurate manner, supporting commercial negotiations.
  • Prepare Grower finalizations and returns as instructed, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Process fruit cost invoices as directed, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Work with Commercial and IT departments to identify and deliver process improvements, driving business efficiency.
  • Participate in a weekend rota to facilitate information sharing with the sales, technical, and stocks teams, ensuring seamless communication.
