Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Debt Recovery Specialist to join our team at Bristow and Sutor Group. As a key member of our credit control team, you will be responsible for making and receiving telephone calls with customers to arrange payment of outstanding debts.

Our ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a call centre or credit control type role, with strong communication skills and the ability to work to targets. You will be comfortable making outgoing telephone calls to customers and have strong problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make and receive telephone calls with customers to arrange payment of outstanding debts
  • Handle difficult conversations in a sensitive and professional manner with customers over the telephone
  • Enter accurate records of conversations and payment agreements into a customer database
  • Follow processes and guidelines regarding debt collection
  • Work in an open plan, contact centre environment – achieving personal and team targets

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a call centre or credit control type role
  • Clear and confident communications skills – both writing/data entry and over the telephone
  • Being comfortable working to targets – earning more money based on your achievements
  • Strong IT skills – we use different technologies and systems and need you to pick these up quickly
  • Happy to make outgoing telephone calls to customers - on occasions these can be difficult conversations
  • Problem solving abilities – able to ask the right questions to get the information you need
