Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systemic Psychotherapist to join our team at Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Brent Integrated Psychology & Psychotherapy Service, you will work closely with colleagues to provide high-quality, evidence-based systemic psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families affected by severe and enduring mental health difficulties.

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant mental health/social welfare profession and demonstrable practice in this field. A Masters-level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy or equivalent qualification, accredited by UKCP, is also essential. You will be registered with the UKCP as a Systemic Psychotherapist and have evidence of continuing professional development as required by the UKCP.

As a Systemic Psychotherapist, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and clinical systemic formulation to individuals, couples, families, and social networks. You will also select and deliver specialist therapeutic interventions, drawing from a broad spectrum of systemic models, and monitor outcome and modify and adapt interventions as necessary.

The successful candidate will have significant knowledge of the theory and practice of family and systemic psychotherapy relevant to an Adult Mental Health setting. You will also have advanced knowledge of a range of systemic models in assessment and treatment, including knowledge of specific family and systemic theories and evidence relevant to an Adult Mental Health setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist assessment and clinical systemic formulation to individuals, couples, families, and social networks.
  • Select and deliver specialist therapeutic interventions, drawing from a broad spectrum of systemic models.
  • Monitor outcome and modify and adapt interventions as necessary.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients.
  • Act as lead professional where necessary, taking responsibility for the planning and reviewing of care plans for service users.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant mental health/social welfare profession.
  • Masters-level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy or equivalent qualification, accredited by UKCP.
  • Registered with the UKCP as a Systemic Psychotherapist.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the UKCP.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualification in a specialised area of family or couple therapy.
  • Recognised qualification in another psychotherapy modality or application.
  • Experience of working with, and addressing issues of, diversity.
