Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly organised and adaptable individual to join their team as a Technical Storekeeper. This role is an essential part of the Quartermaster Department, responsible for the management and control of all CBRN and technical equipment for the Defence CBRN Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring all equipment is clean and serviceable.
  • Issue and receipt equipment to personnel, maintaining accurate documentation for stores accounting and auditing.
  • Conduct maintenance, low-level repair, and testing of CBRN equipment and consumables.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to Centre personnel and outside agencies.
  • Support the Quartermaster with the disposal of hazardous materials and waste.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and basic digital literacy.
  • Basic understanding of electrics and mechanics for low-level equipment repair.
  • Ability to undertake training courses and travel to various locations in the UK.

Working Environment

The Defence CBRN Centre is a dynamic and rewarding environment, offering a wide range of additional opportunities and benefits. The role is advertised at 37 hours a week over a day period, with the possibility of overtime.

Training and Development

In-house and external training will be provided, including the All-Arms Unit Store person Course and training in the logistics field. This represents opportunities to gain industry-recognised qualifications and develop skills in the logistics field.

Physical Demands

The role requires a degree of physical ability, including lifting and carrying boxes and equipment of varying sizes, and placing/retrieving items and boxes from shelving that may be above head height.
