Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Professional to join our team in South Lanarkshire. As an Accounting Specialist, you will provide financial advice and support to various departments within the council, ensuring effective financial management and compliance with statutory responsibilities.
About the Position
This permanent position involves providing financial guidance and support to departments, forecasting and budget setting, and monitoring performance against budgets. You will work closely with the Finance Adviser to prepare financial returns, committee reports, and ensure general financial stewardship of the council's resources.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working in a financial environment, ideally in the public sector
- Technical job knowledge and expertise
- Ability to comply with professional codes of practice
- Professional Accountancy qualification and membership of a relevant professional body
What We Offer
As an employee of South Lanarkshire Council, you will receive a competitive salary, ranging from £39,350 to £49,040 per annum, depending on experience. You will also enjoy up to 33 days annual leave, public holiday entitlement, occupational sick pay, and family-friendly policies.
