Role Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of emergency medicine services across both hospital sites.



Main Responsibilities

  • Clinical Duties: Provide primary medical care to patients suffering recent injuries and acute medical and surgical conditions of sudden onset.


  • Supervision and Teaching: Supervise and teach training grade doctors on the shop floor, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the required standards.


  • Leadership and Management: Work closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies that improve patient outcomes and streamline clinical processes.




Requirements

  • Experience: At least 4 years of postgraduate medical experience/training, with a minimum of 12 months in Emergency Medicine (at least 6 months in the UK in a training or middle-grade post at CT3 level or above).


  • Qualifications: Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice, MBBS or equivalent (primary medical degree as recognised by the GMC), ALS and at least one of: ATLS, APLS, ETC (or equivalent), MIMMS.
