Job Title: Health and Safety Officer - Scotland
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing robust functional Safety, Health & Environmental leadership and supporting the achievement of site SH&E KPI's with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Health and Safety across both sites in Scotland, from implementation through to maintaining and improving standards.
- Ensure site personnel are provided with adequate safety training and that this is recorded and refreshed appropriately.
- Provide guidance to management on the promotion and implementation of SH&E targets and improvements and the resourcing for agreed activities and these objectives.
- Develop a robust and effective continuous improvement strategy for SHE, in line with the Bekaert strategy and in partnership with the management team and key business stakeholders.
- Develop programmes to reduce SH&E hazards and risks.
- Ensure the participation and involvement of all team members in SH&E issues is actively encouraged and ensure all complaints and/or breaches are brought to the attention of line management.
- Continually improve existing SH&E programmes, processes and systems.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- NEBOSH Qualification.
- Ability to delegate and deal with situations confidently whilst achieving desired outcomes with Safety as a priority.
- Understanding of confidentiality issues and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to research, analyze, and present material clearly and concisely.
