Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurse Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 6 nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialist care and advice to patients with diabetes.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assess, plan, prioritize, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions to meet patients' needs.
- To provide education and training to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on diabetes management and care.
- To work closely with consultants, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- To take a lead role in organizing and managing multi-professional patient care.
- To provide highly specialist advice on the phone and liaison with general practitioners, district nurses, and hospital medical teams as appropriate.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years practising as a diabetes nurse.
- NMP qualification.
- Competence with all Continuous Glucose Systems.
- Experience with both primary and secondary care in relation to diabetes management.
- Ability to use Hive and Emis recording systems (desirable).
- Dafne or Desmond trained to deliver patient structured nice accredited education (desirable).
- Ability to communicate complex information effectively to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this role is estimated to be £42,714-£51,959 per annum, depending on experience. The trust offers a range of benefits including flexible working arrangements, annual leave entitlement, and access to our electronic patient record system, Hive.
