About the Role

As a Senior Design Researcher at Riverlane, you will play a critical part in developing the world's first Quantum Error Correction (QEC) stack. This innovative technology has the potential to unlock useful quantum computing and solve some of the world's most pressing challenges.

We are looking for an experienced researcher with a strong background in mathematics, physics, or computer science to lead this project. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of undertaking high-quality theoretical work and driving the direction of scientific projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for exploring existing and developing new QEC protocols, collaborating with HW engineers to implement protocols and algorithms in the QEC stack, and leading projects involving a small team of colleagues. They will also be expected to develop relationships with new partners and customers, share expertise with other teams at Riverlane, and present their work at conferences.

What We Need
  • A PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Proven ability to undertake high-quality theoretical work
  • Experience driving the direction of scientific work
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with QEC principles

In addition to these qualifications, we welcome candidates with knowledge of Python and/or C++, classical and/or quantum decoding algorithms, QEC experience evidenced by scientific publications, and experience running experiments on quantum computers.
