As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with SEMH and challenging behaviour, helping them to build life skills and confidence, develop healthy relationships, and make decisions that are right for them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils outside of the classroom, utilizing strong behaviour management skills to adapt to any situation.
- Organize and oversee community programmes aimed at young people, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work directly with children and young people, helping them to develop essential life skills, such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote positive relationships, self-esteem, and self-confidence among learners.
About the School:
The SEMH School is a highly supportive and inclusive environment, catering to the needs of 132 pupils aged 5-18 with SEMH and behavioural difficulties. The school offers a wide-ranging curriculum, tailored to support learners in achieving their highest potential.
Requirements:
- Strong behaviour management skills and ability to adapt to any situation.
- Experience working with young people with SEMH and challenging behaviour.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to promote positive relationships and self-esteem.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
