The Workshop Supervisor - ROV Systems is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities in the workshop, ensuring trained and competent resources, as well as parts and consumables, are available to meet system requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise workshop activities to maximize utilization and efficiency of personnel through resource planning and monitoring.
- Liaise with the workshop operations planner to ensure equipment, parts, and consumables are available for a "clean to start" methodology.
- Identify changes in work scope, potential impact on schedule, and report to the workshop operations planner and production manager.
- Assist with quoting rework activities, costing, and back-charging of consumables and labor hours.
- Attend tender and project kick-off meetings to ensure workshop input criteria are fully understood and met.
- Responsible for staff development, training, and continuous appraisal to facilitate maximum contribution from department members.
- Ensure department-related processes and procedures are up-to-date and aligned with customer and supplier requirements.
- Participate in incident investigations.
- Ensure Risk Assessments and JSEA library are up-to-date.
- Provide guidance and mentoring on QHSE/6S practices, such as JSEA, Risk Assessments, and Pressure Testing best practices.
- Create, maintain, and present workshop key performance indicators, including utilization, efficiency, observation close-out rate, and duration.
- Ownership and implementation of 5S and QHSE Focus groups.
- IOSH - Managing Safely
- City and Guilds - Pressure Testing SCQF Level 6
- Incident Investigation
- A1 or equivalent Workplace Assessor
- Forklift Truck certification
The employee may work indoors or outdoors during the day and occasionally at night. Climatic and environmental conditions may include indoor and outdoor climate with various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc. This may include an offshore environment where vessel movements may have an effect.
The employee will be required to wear PPE at all times.
Physical Activity/RequirementsThe employee is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
This position is considered Medium work.
