About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Maternity and Neonatal Lead, responsible for driving transformation and improvement in maternity and neonatal services across Hertfordshire and West Essex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a conduit linking service users to staff across the Integrated Care Board, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Deliver the agreed objectives of the Maternity and Neonatal Vision and Partnership (MNVP) as set out in the annual workplan, using influence to drive highly effective and visible outcomes.
  • Represent the MNVP at local, regional, and national maternity and neonatal meetings and events, providing independent challenge and scrutiny based on evidence gathered from parents/carers and professionals.
  • Assist professionals in identifying and engaging with pregnant women/service users, parents, and their families at every level of change, enabling authentic co-production.
  • Support the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) and their Trust to ensure effective planning and management of workstreams, taking the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.
Requirements
  • Recent or current service user experience in maternity and/or neonatal services within the last two years or a post-graduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent.
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments, including working with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and organisations to influence, plan, and implement a programme of transformation and quality improvement work.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritizing workloads and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
  • Understanding of the public sector.
  • Experience and/or understanding of national, regional, and local drivers for transformation and quality improvements across maternity and neonatal services.
