Care Experienced Young People Support Specialist

Central Bedfordshire Council is excited to offer an opportunity for one Personal Advisor role within our Children's Services, Leaving Care Team.
This challenging yet rewarding position involves managing a diverse caseload of young people aged 18-25 who are care experienced. As part of your daily responsibilities, you will be required to support these individuals in securing housing, accessing education or employment opportunities, and receiving health and wellbeing services. Additionally, you will help them develop independent living skills, navigate legal and immigration matters, and plan their future pathways.
The ideal candidate will possess previous experience as a Personal Advisor supporting care experienced young people or related field experience. You should have a solid understanding of the legislative framework governing this role and be a strong advocate for the rights and well-being of these vulnerable individuals. You must also be confident in planning, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating interventions to ensure positive outcomes for young adults using contemporary knowledge of relevant legislation, research, and best practices.
A key aspect of this role is effective communication and building resilience in young people. You will need to negotiate and resolve conflicts and problems with those you work with. Furthermore, you will collaborate with various partner organizations and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
