About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Liaison Psychiatry service based in Exeter. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in contributing to the mental health care of people in the general hospital.

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for making specialist mental health assessments, devising interventions, and developing individual recovery plans for patients. You will work closely with colleagues to provide a comprehensive service, including assessment and consultation work with people who require support for their mental health needs.

We are looking for an experienced mental health professional with a professional mental health qualification (RMN, CQSW / ASW, BSc/Diploma in OT, SROT). You will have a strong understanding of Local Mental Health Care Pathways, the Mental Health Act, and the Mental Health Capacity Act & DOLS requirements.

We offer a range of training opportunities, including CPD modules, to help you develop the skills you need to thrive in the role. Our team is committed to providing high-quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct specialist mental health assessments and devise interventions to support patients
  • Develop individual recovery plans for patients, working closely with colleagues and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide a comprehensive service, including assessment and consultation work with people who require support for their mental health needs
  • Work closely with colleagues to provide a safe and effective service
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
