We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our SEMH specialist unit in a large primary school in Barking and Dagenham.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, encouraging positive engagement and emotional resilience.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing proactive support in the classroom and around the school to contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Working closely with teaching staff and specialists to implement personalised support plans and behavioural strategies
- Embracing opportunities for training and development to grow as part of a dedicated team
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs, ideally with experience or a strong interest in this area.
Our ideal candidate will be a proactive, compassionate, and supportive individual with strong communication skills and an understanding of behaviour as a form of communication.
