Job Details

The Healthcare Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for supporting the Operational Facilities Manager in driving the strategic vision and daily operations of Hotel Services across Trust sites.

This role requires a highly motivated individual who can promote, develop, and manage critical services, ensuring the highest standards of performance and stakeholder satisfaction.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with team members and management to meet and exceed performance targets, contributing to a positive and effective working environment.

The post holder will be flexible with working hours, adapting to changing and competing service demands working 5 shifts per week over late evenings and nights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and support for the Hotel Services function, ensuring efficient, effective, and responsive service delivery.
  • Lead, motivate, and support the Hotel Services team to achieve optimal service delivery, particularly during evening and night hours.
  • Assume deputising responsibilities for the Facilities Operations Manager as needed, maintaining continuity of operations.
  • Oversee the evening and overnight workforce, guaranteeing full service coverage for outpatient departments and communal areas out of hours.
  • Manage operations primarily on the Derriford Hospital site, with potential extensions to other community locations.
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with external entities to ensure service delivery aligns with legislative requirements.
  • Present complex recommendations to staff and other disciplines, advocating for service improvement and implementation guidance within the organisation.
  • Maintain strong communication channels with key stakeholders, ensuring service expectations are met, regulatory compliance is upheld, and service user needs are addressed.
  • Communicate complex information effectively to hotel services staff and key stakeholders.
  • Offer expert advice to internal stakeholders on service provision matters.
  • Participate in Leadership and Management meetings as required.
  • Represent the Trust in external meetings related to services.
  • Possess a further post graduate qualification or demonstrate equivalent specialist knowledge and skills acquired through relevant experience.
  • Cultivate a willingness to undertake further training and personal development.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in a management role.
  • Experience of implementing systems to enhance customer/patient safety and experience.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.

Estimated salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, based on experience.
