Job Summary

The NHS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Secretary to join our team in Plymouth. As a Medical Secretary, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the medical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

About the Department:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Collaborate with medical staff, patients, and other professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Develop expertise in Microsoft Office, SystmOne, and other software applications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide secretarial services to medical staff, including typing letters, reports, and other documents
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Arrange meetings, appointments, and other events as required
  • Take minutes and maintain confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Educated to Vocational Level 3 (NVQ3) in a relevant subject or equivalent previous knowledge & experience
  • Maths & English GCSE Grades 4 and above or equivalent
  • Relevant Audio typing/secretarial qualification or experience (or willingness and ability to learn this)
  • Medical Secretary/PA Diploma
  • AMSPAR Level 2 Medical Terminology

Salary: £29,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on experience
