About the Role

The Careers Manager will have strategic and operational oversight of our Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) provision and ensuring the institution maintains its excellent Graduate Outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing plans for the development of career opportunities, work-based learning, placements, and the enhancement of employability prospects for all students and alumni.

The Careers Manager is a member of the College Management Team, liaising with all relevant departments and working closely with academic colleagues in the development of careers and industry-focused programmes and curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement CEIAG strategies to enhance graduate outcomes and employability prospects.
  • Lead the development of career opportunities, work-based learning, placements, and employer partnerships.
  • Manage and motivate a team to deliver high-quality careers education and guidance services.
  • Collaborate with academic colleagues to develop industry-focused programmes and curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of CEIAG provision and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working in a role involving careers education in a higher or further education setting.
  • Knowledge of the creative industries, relevant models of employment, and portfolio careers.
  • Expert knowledge of the regulatory environment and metrics relating to employability, progression, and graduate outcomes.
  • Sound understanding of the graduate and postgraduate labour market in the UK and internationally.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and support team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
