Job Summary

DA Private Healthcare Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fertility Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a Fertility Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals and couples undergoing fertility treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy procedures with precision and accuracy, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Assist with data entry, including entering ultrasound measurements, to maintain accurate patient records.
  • Conduct decontamination procedures on trans-vaginal probes between scans, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques when assisting with invasive procedures, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Nurse consultations with patients, providing education on injection techniques, administering medication, and obtaining informed consent.
  • Perform screening and update checklists, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols.
  • Coordinate patient treatment schedules, booking appointments and advising on medication regimens.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, displaying empathy and compassion in person and over the phone.
  • Provide clear instructions on treatment plans and protocols, ensuring patient understanding and compliance.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of in-house consent forms and clinical protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date on drug regimens and clinical protocols, ensuring accurate administration and treatment.
  • Administer medication with patient consent, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Advise patients on positive pregnancy tests, outlining ongoing care plans and protocols, and liaising with the medical team as needed.

Non-Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily quality management checks on emergency equipment, ensuring readiness for use in emergency situations.
  • Assist with pharmacy quality management, performing stock takes and checking prescriptions against pharmacy sales.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in fertility nursing, with a strong understanding of clinical protocols and procedures.
  • Phlebotomy experience, with the ability to cannulate patients safely and effectively.
  • Experience in monitoring patients after sedation, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Scanning experience, with a strong understanding of ultrasound measurements and protocols.
