Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care: Ensure patients receive compassionate and effective care, maintaining their dignity and confidentiality at all times.
- Act as a chaperone: Understand and implement the role of the chaperone, providing support and assistance as needed.
- Assist with data entry: Enter ultrasound measurements and other relevant data into our system.
- Perform decontamination: Decontaminate trans-vaginal probes between scans, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Use aseptic techniques: Assist with invasive procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques and ensuring patient safety.
- Keep clinical areas clean and tidy: Ensure all clinical areas are clean, well-stocked, and organized, adhering to quality management checks.
- Effective waste management: Dispose of waste correctly, adhering to protocols and guidelines.
- Safe sharps disposal: Dispose of sharps safely, adhering to protocols and guidelines.
- Effective hand washing: Wash hands regularly, adhering to guidelines and protocols.
- Nurse consultations: Conduct nurse consultations, providing education and support to patients.
- Medication management: Administer medication, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Reporting and documentation: Report abnormal results to the medical team, documenting all patient interactions and treatment plans.
- Communication and teamwork: Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and medical teams, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Professional development: Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest fertility treatment protocols and guidelines.
Requirements:
- Registered General Nurse: Hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Diploma in Nursing: Hold a diploma in nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing: Hold a bachelor of science degree in nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Masters Degree in Nursing: Hold a masters degree in nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a fertility nursing role.
- Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of fertility treatment protocols and guidelines, including HFEA regulations.
