We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Subscription Growth to join our team at Thomson Reuters. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a global subscription acquisition and retention strategy that drives business growth and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive subscription growth strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Lead marketing efforts to deploy ROI-driven paid acquisition and retention tactics that drive subscription revenue.
  • Perform continuous competitive market trends analysis to inform our strategy and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Analyze audience data to define customer cohorts and inform marketing strategy and product development.
  • Articulate the value of our offerings to current and future audiences and develop compelling sales pitches.
  • Deploy the right tools to engage and convert the Reuters audience, including content personalization, registration, and newsletters.
  • Develop real-time reports that provide a clear overview of how we are tracking against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Build and manage a high-performing team that will serve as the subscriptions center of excellence across the organization.

Key Deliverables

  • Develop an audience proposition with insight to guide product development and drive subscription growth.
  • Develop and execute a subscriptions go-to-market strategy that drives revenue and growth.
  • Subscriptions revenue and average revenue per user (ARPU) targets and strategic plan to achieve them.
  • Customer churn and retention targets and strategic plan to achieve them.
  • Customer cost per acquisition (CPA) and lifetime value (LTV) targets and strategic plan to achieve them.
  • Continuous testing plan for offers and conversion funnel with A/B parallel approach.
  • Data-driven analysis to continually improve audience acquisition, conversion, and retention.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven leadership experience working in the online media sector, ideally with a strong record of accomplishments in the news sector.
  • Proven ability to think strategically about business opportunities and future customer needs in the media industry.
  • A hands-on approach and ability to work effectively at a detailed level.
  • Proven track record in subscription acquisition, conversion, and retention, ideally within an international or business news environment.
  • Extensive data and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of success working in complex and highly matrixed corporate business environments.
  • Experience working in a global organization.
