About the Role:

As a Support Worker for Children and Young People, you will play a vital role in supporting an 11-year-old child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The successful candidate will provide emotional support and stability, helping the child to cope with changes and routines, and promoting independence through activities and community access.

About the Child’s Needs:

The child has a good sense of humour, is friendly and kind, and enjoys spending time outdoors. However, they can find it upsetting to be around people who get cross easily or shout, so we need someone who is patient and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a tailored activity plan to meet the child's needs and interests
  • Provide emotional support and stability, helping the child to cope with changes and routines
  • Transport yourself for travel across East Riding of Yorkshire, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for the child

Requirements:

  • Commit to supporting the child with activities and community access for a minimum of 6 months
  • Hold a valid enhanced DBS clearance check or be willing to undergo one
  • Ability to work independently, using your own initiative and decision-making skills

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £27,500 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including paid annual leave and training opportunities.
