Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Youth Activity Support Worker to join our team at the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The successful candidate will provide support to an 11-year-old child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, enabling them to access the community and participate in activities they enjoy.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of a young person. As a Childcare Assistant with Community Focus, you will be responsible for supporting the child with daily activities, providing guidance and encouragement while promoting independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a tailored activity plan to meet the child's needs and interests
  • Provide emotional support and stability, helping the child to cope with changes and routines
  • Transport yourself for travel across East Riding of Yorkshire, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for the child

Requirements:

  • Commit to supporting the child with activities and community access for a minimum of 6 months
  • Hold a valid enhanced DBS clearance check or be willing to undergo one
  • Ability to work independently, using your own initiative and decision-making skills

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including paid annual leave and training opportunities.
