Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare, cook, and present high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes as per the set menu.
  • Menu Development and Planning: Assist the Chef Manager in recipe development and menu planning to ensure a diverse and appealing menu for our staff.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Act as the lead in the Chef Manager's absence, overseeing junior staff, kitchen management, and meal preparation to ensure seamless service.
  • Customer Service: Serve meals, operate the till, and manage customer orders to provide excellent customer service.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain hygiene standards in food prep, storage, and serving areas, ensuring compliance with HACCP requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Support stock ordering and replenishment to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Assist with cleaning duties, including washing tableware and kitchen equipment to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary paperwork and liaise with food service contractors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Waste Control and Food Hygiene: Monitor waste control and follow food hygiene standards to minimize waste and ensure a clean kitchen.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience and Qualifications: Proven experience in cooking, baking, and menu development in a similar environment, with a Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently and adapt to new processes, with strong commitment to health and safety, excellent communication and team-working skills, and ability to handle pressure and provide excellent customer service.
  • Education and Training: NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality or Catering is desirable.
