About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Airfreight Import Operator to join our team at Europa Worldwide Group. As a key member of our airfreight division, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth importation of airfreight shipments, providing exceptional customer service, and working closely with internal and external teams to meet client and company expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and operational handling, ensuring attention to detail when dealing with customers.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure client and company expectations are met.
  • Generate import customs entries, ensuring compliance with HMRC obligations.
  • Ensure all external temporary storage facility (ETSF) movements are handled in-line with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist with administration tasks within the department, including job costing and invoicing for the import team.
  • Monitor and collect duty/tax payments made via FTS.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication with customers, agents, and suppliers via phone and email.
  • Undertake airfreight import operations, ensuring receipt of bookings, arranging customs clearance, airline liaison, and collection and delivery of cargo to final delivery point.
  • Organize import bookings with overseas agents.
  • Complete credit checks on accounts in-line with company policy.
  • Ensure arrival notifications are promptly dealt with and keep stakeholders updated throughout.
Requirements
  • Strong customer service background, confident personality, with a minimum of 2 years' previous experience within Airfreight operations.
  • Working knowledge of Import customs clearance within airfreight.
  • Time management and communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritize and proactively deal with situations and use initiative.
  • Ability to work independently as well as blend well with a friendly and effective team.
