About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our Structural Engineering team in the Midlands region. As a critical part of our team, you will lead an engineering cost centre(s) and be responsible for overseeing our team of structural engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the structural engineering team for our Midlands region, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Use the latest design software to create and manage designs, ensuring they meet industry standards and company policies.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
  • Implement company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote our services.
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Must have Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Demonstrable record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, such as DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SSGetc.
  • Problem solver able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
