We are seeking a talented Associate Structural Engineer to join our growing structural team in the Midlands region. As a critical part of our team, you will lead an engineering cost centre(s) and oversee our team of structural engineers for the region.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the structural engineering team for the Midlands region, providing support and guidance where necessary.
  • Use the latest design software to create and manage designs, ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and delegated to team members.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMS's services.
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.

Qualifications

We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated, and driven experienced Associate Structural Engineer with the following criteria:

  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Demonstrable record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG, SSG etc.
  • Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative & proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
