Job Role: Graduate Structural Engineer

JMS Group, a leading civil and structural engineering firm, is seeking a talented Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team at our Midlands office. As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking designs on a variety of projects, from small domestic extensions to large, multi-storey apartment and office developments.

Working alongside colleagues within the local office as well as those in other parts of the Group, you will be encouraged to develop your design experience and skills and be supported to obtain accreditation to the Institute of Structural Engineers.

With project costs up to £12m and the use of the latest design software, this role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.

  • Use the latest design software to create and manage designs.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.

We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and driven Graduate Structural Engineer able to meet the following criteria:

  • Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. Manual for Streets.
  • Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative & proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices.
