Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at McBride. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve technical issues and improve overall efficiency.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Provide technical training and support to production colleagues and engineering apprentices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to continuously improve maintenance processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Engineering skills obtained by time served apprenticeship or equivalent (NVQ Level 3)
  • Multi-skilled with proven basic electrical competency
  • Continuous improvement and root cause analysis skills
  • Literate and numerate (GCSE level English and Maths or equivalent desirable)
  • Ability to interpret documentation in English Language
  • Experience in food FMCG or equivalent process industry
  • Familiar with packaging lines, drives, conveyors, rotating machinery, pumping equipment and valves
  • Familiar with pneumatically and hydraulically controlled systems
  • Competent in safe working procedures
