About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator to join our team at Shaw Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting and supporting the progress and achievement of SEND students throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support the progress and achievement of SEND students
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure high standards and expectations for both SEND students and staff
  • Provide guidance and support to students with special educational needs, including those with literacy and numeracy difficulties
  • Engage with young people who have been disconnected from education and provide them with the support and guidance they need to succeed

Requirements

  • Hold a qualification in Special Educational Needs Coordination or equivalent
  • Have a strong understanding of curricula and pedagogical issues relating to literacy and numeracy
  • Have experience of working with students with special educational needs
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with students, staff and parents
