About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine with an interest in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia to join our forward-thinking team at the Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Intensive Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Share the caseload, facilities, and trainee grade support with existing consultants
  • Contribute to the development of our Intensive Care Unit and improve relationships with Barts Cardiac Centre
  • Participate in the management of critically ill patients and provide expert care in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • MB ChB, MBBS
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), or eligible for registration within six months of interview
  • At least 8 years working in the speciality of anaesthetics, with at least 2 years' experience in hospitals in the UK

Desirable Criteria

  • Higher Medical Degree (MD or MSc)
  • Six month advanced general training
  • Record of regular attendance at National Specialty meetings

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
