About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Coordinator to join our team at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical and admin team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality mental health services to our patients.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for accepting referrals into our service, making decisions on suitability, and establishing pathways for referrers and patients. You will act as a point of contact for external professionals and service users, providing guidance and support as needed.

Main Duties
  • Support staff with queries regarding triage, treatment, and access to secondary care.
  • Triage referrals entering the service via the IAPT self-referral portal or from other professionals.
  • Support the admin team with client/Duty queries.
  • Work as a referral coordinator within IAPT, being the first point of contact for patients presenting with mental health problems.
  • Manage triage referrals and make clinical decisions about appropriate services.
  • Recognise signs of abuse/safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a professional qualification in mental health, such as RMN, OT, CBT, or Psychology. You will also need to have a degree or equivalent qualification/experience in delivering mental health interventions. Evidence of continued professional development is essential.

Desirable qualifications include professional registration with a governing body and experience working within a multi-disciplinary team. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to assess risk and identify opportunities for risk mitigation.
