Job Title: Project Engineer - Strategic Systems

As a Project Engineer - Strategic Systems, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, working with the Ministry of Defence on our strategic systems for in-service submarines. You will have the opportunity to impact and influence change within the business, working within a dynamic and diverse team of various skills sets which has influenced the outputs of the team.

The Role

As a Project Engineer - Strategic Systems, you'll work within the Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) Directorate, to ensure the continuous support of our in-service fleet. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical solutions and work package/project management in the delivery of the project
  • Applying engineering and domain knowledge competently to achieve contracted outputs
  • Delivering tasking for which you are responsible and accountable for the timeliness and quality of outputs and deliverables
  • Supporting the ongoing growth and development of the business
  • Maintaining the highest standards of conduct and customer relations with various internal and external stakeholders

This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.

Essential Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Understanding of Project Life Cycle management, from concept through to disposal
  • Previous experience either working within Project Management or Engineering disciplines/industries
  • Experience of utilising MS Projects would be beneficial
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
  • Having a systematic approach and problem-solving mindset

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold:

  • A degree in an Engineering or Project Management subject, or demonstrable experience
  • Have professional registration with an engineering institution (or working towards) is beneficial

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
