Job Overview

Polaris Community is seeking an experienced Foster Care Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Supporting foster parents and their families to provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, and learning environment for children and young people.
  2. Monitoring the continued suitability and competence of Foster parents.
  3. Providing regular supervision to allocated foster parents.
  4. Working in partnership with the foster family, social workers, and other professionals to identify and meet the needs of children and young people.
  5. Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • The ability to produce high-quality reports and documents.
  • A full driving licence and confidence in transporting children and young people.
