Job Title: ERTMS Training Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ERTMS Training Specialist to join our team at Freightliner. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs to our drivers, shunters, and ground staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for ERTMS, including theory, simulation, and practical modules.
  • Collaborate with the ERTMS project team to ensure training is aligned with project requirements.
  • Deliver training to drivers, shunters, and ground staff, ensuring they meet the necessary competency standards.
  • Assist with the introduction of simulation technology and evaluate its effectiveness in training and assessment.
  • Construct and deliver scenarios and simulations for use in training and assessment.
  • Manage new flows of work and ensure training is delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Update and deliver ERTMS driver instructor training and conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance.
  • Attend TOSGs nationwide and contribute to the achievement of the UK business strategy and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of competency management in the rail industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RSSB standards for Drivers & Groundstaff.
  • Competent and experienced train driver, ideally qualified as an instructor with experience of instructing trainee and experienced drivers.
  • Either competent or aim to become competent groundstaff qualified operator.
  • Teaching qualification desirable.
  • Experience of delivering training to adults.
  • Good IT skills and working knowledge of change in the rail industry.
  • Ability to interpret training materials and execute multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex problems and ensure effective decision making.
