Job Title:

We are seeking a Project Purchasing Manager who will handle all buying and purchasing throughout our business. The ideal candidate should have an engineering background and be self-starters.

Job Summary:

The Project Purchasing Manager will be responsible for developing and driving the procurement strategy for all projects from prototyping to large-scale mass production. This includes liaising with the design team on cost analysis for each product and parts involved, identifying and delivering opportunities to reduce overall supply chain costs, and purchasing and expediting materials according to production schedule.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all aspects of materials supply into and through the business, identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.
  2. Liaise with the design team on the cost analysis for each product and the parts involved.
  3. Identify and deliver further opportunities to reduce overall supply chain costs.
  4. Purchase and expedite material purchasing according to production schedule.
  5. Analyse inventory and control stock levels to ensure effective levels for the business.
  6. Help implement and develop the existing ERP system.
  7. Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve purchasing procedures and increase efficiency.
  8. Manage and develop new and existing supplier relationships, managing all negotiations.

Skill Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as a buyer within manufacturing or engineering settings.
  2. Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  3. Ability to read engineering drawings.
  4. Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Good timekeeping, prioritisation, and workload management skills.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
