**Support Children's Mental Health in a Mainstream Primary School Environment**
The SENCO of a reputable Primary School in Preston is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to support small groups of pupils across the school who require additional SEMH support. Senior Leaders are committed to ensuring each child receives the right level of support and have created a new role to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individual children.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner with experience of supporting children or vulnerable adults with their mental health. The successful candidate will report directly to the SENCO and be responsible for providing support to individual and small groups of children, liaising with class teachers, and delivering 1:1 sessions.
The ability to build excellent relationships with children and families is essential for this role. The successful applicant must be open-minded, committed to inclusion, and demonstrate a good understanding of each individual child's needs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide SEMH support to small groups of pupils
- Liaise with class teachers and outside agencies
- Deliver 1:1 sessions in the classroom and intervention rooms
**Requirements:**
- Qualified up to Degree level
- Experience of supporting children or vulnerable adults with their mental health
**Rates of Pay:** Competitive rates of pay, varying from £350-£450 per week, inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
