About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Psychologist to join our Paediatric Recovery From Illness team. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing psychological support to children and young people with long-term conditions, and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver psychological support to children and young people within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) context.
- Develop individual plans and resources, as well as provide training and advice on the psychological needs of children and young people with chronic symptoms.
- Provide individual psychological interventions directly to children, young people, and families, as well as develop and facilitate group interventions.
- Support the team to assess the effectiveness of offered interventions.
About the Team
You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with colleagues from Paediatrics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Dietetics. Our team adopts a collaborative approach to support children, young people, and families.

Requirements
- Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) or eligible.
- Good psychology degree.
- Knowledge of psychological and mental health issues for children and young people in paediatric or surgical settings.
Desirable
- Relevant postgraduate training.
- Experience of working with children and families.
- Experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist or similar.
Language
We welcome applications from English and/or Welsh speakers. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
