Assistant Psychologist, Paediatric Recovery From Illness

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Psychologist to join our Paediatric Recovery From Illness team. The successful candidate will work closely with the lead Clinical Psychologist to deliver psychological support to children and young people with long-term conditions.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individual plans and resources to support children and young people with chronic symptoms.
- Provide training and advice to colleagues on the psychological needs of children and young people with long-term conditions.
- Deliver individual and group psychological interventions to children, young people, and families.
- Assess the effectiveness of interventions and contribute to the development of the team's practice.
Requirements
- Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a good psychology degree.
- Knowledge of psychological and mental health issues for children and young people in paediatric or surgical settings.
- Experience of working with children and families, and as an Assistant Psychologist or similar role.
Desirable
- Relevant postgraduate training.
- Experience of working in an MDT in the NHS.
- Ability to speak Welsh.
