Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tutor to provide educational support to children with additional needs in a flexible and dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status and experience working with children or young people, with a strong ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing educational sessions, face-to-face with children at their homes or a local area
  • Building rapport and a good relationship with the pupils
  • Planning resources around the child's needs
  • Keeping the child engaged with tasks

The location for this role will vary dependent on the need of the pupil, but will be pre-agreed prior to commencement of the tuition. All pupils for this role will be based in the Northumberland area, so access to your own vehicle will be essential.

What we're looking for in a Tutor:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Able to plan and deliver core and cross-curricular engaging sessions
  • Applying skills to get pupils' education back up to speed
  • Managing and implementing different behaviour strategies
  • Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and providing feedback
