Job Title: Deputy Director for Quality

The Deputy Director for Quality is a senior nursing position within the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, requiring an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to facilitate working within the Surgical Services Group.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational direction to all nurses within the directorates
  • Ensure high-quality patient-focused care
  • Implement robust risk management and governance arrangements
  • Oversee clinical procurement and Medicines Management for the Group
  • Deputise for the Group Director of Nursing
Person Specification:
  • Registered nurse with NMC
  • Masters degree or equivalent level of academic achievement in health-related subject or working towards
  • Completion of recent Leadership/Management or evidence of equivalent competence
  • Evidence of professional development in the last twelve months
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Mentorship qualification or equivalent

  • Ability to produce regular reports
Experience:
  • Experience of leading clinical teams and professional agendas

  • Experience of workforce planning across multiple ward/department areas/directorates
