About the Role:

Lloyd's Register is seeking a Lead Marine Machinery Specialist to join our Technical Support Office (TSO) team.

The role involves providing a world-wide, plan approval service to shipbuilders, ship owners and manufacturers. Key responsibilities include carrying out plan approval of maritime machinery components and dynamics in accordance with Lloyd's Register Rules & Regulations, Statutory Regulations and International Standards.

A portion of the work may involve Naval Ships, and the successful applicant will preferably hold or be able to achieve UK SC security clearance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Carry out plan approval of machinery components and dynamics
  • Monitor revisions to Statutory, Rule and Flag requirements and apply these revisions as appropriate
  • BUILD AND MAINTAIN A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH CLIENTS AND INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS
  • Provide technical advice to internal and external clients
  • Present deliverables to internal/external clients and suggest solutions where appropriate
  • Undertake project management including monitoring progress and spend against budget and contract requirement
  • Coaching of less experienced colleagues and act as a mentor to colleagues as agreed with line manager
