Special Educational Needs Assistant

Join us at Prospero Teaching as we seek a Special Educational Needs Assistant to provide support to our students. As a Behavioural Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping our students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
About the RoleWorking closely with teachers and other support staff, you will use your skills and experience to help students manage their behaviour and develop important life skills. Your key responsibilities will include supporting students on a 1:1 basis, managing challenging behaviour, and supervising students during break times.
To be successful in this role, you will need a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with both students and staff.
Key Requirements- An Enhanced DBS check (ideally on the Update Service)
- A strong ability to build relationships and rapport with pupils and staff
- Experience in classroom support (though not essential)
- High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils
The salary for this role is approximately £24,000 - £27,500 per annum, depending on experience.
