Trauma-Based Learning Tutor Job Description
This role involves designing and delivering trauma-based learning programmes for students. The successful candidate will have a recognised teaching qualification and experience working with students who have experienced trauma.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Deliver Trauma-Based Learning Programmes: The tutor will design and deliver trauma-based learning programmes for students, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
- Provide Individualised Support: The tutor will provide individualised support to students who have experienced trauma, helping them to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: The tutor will collaborate with other stakeholders, including teachers, support staff, and parents, to create a trauma-informed learning environment.
- Monitor and Assess Progress: The tutor will monitor and assess student progress, adjusting their teaching methods as needed to ensure that students receive the best possible support.
- Support Emotional Well-being: The tutor will support the emotional well-being of students through counselling and guidance, helping them to manage their emotions and develop healthy coping strategies.
Requirements:
- Recognised Teaching Qualification: The successful candidate will have a recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or B.Ed.
- Experience Working with Students who have Experienced Trauma: The tutor will have experience working with students who have experienced trauma, and will be able to provide individualised support to meet their needs.
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed Teaching Practices: The tutor will have an understanding of trauma-informed teaching practices, and will be able to design and deliver programmes that take into account the needs of students who have experienced trauma.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The tutor will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to Create Engaging and Supportive Learning Environments: The tutor will have the ability to create engaging and supportive learning environments, and will be able to adapt their teaching methods to meet the needs of students who have experienced trauma.
