About the Role

We are seeking a talented Bioinformatician to join our team at the Centre for Tumour Microenvironment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and maintaining bioinformatics core functions for the National Institute for Health and Care Research Barts Biomedical Research Centre.

The post holder will work within the project group to lead bioinformatics components and provide bioinformatics and computational expertise to ongoing research activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop and maintain large-scale data analysis pipelines, particularly next-generation sequencing data sets such as RNA-seq, whole-exome sequencing, and/or ChIP-seq.
  • To apply machine learning techniques to analyze single-cell RNA-seq data, spatial omics, and other high-dimensional datasets.
  • To collaborate with researchers to design and implement bioinformatics tools and workflows.
  • To contribute to the development of research proposals and publications.
Requirements
  • A Master's or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or a relevant field.
  • Experience in large-scale data analysis, particularly next-generation sequencing data sets.
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their application to bioinformatics problems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
