This is a standalone role that not only contributes to our research programmes but tasked with establishing our data function. But, crucially, have the chance to use your ingenuity to solve complex problems as our research advances. Who will take ownership for the development of bioinformatics software, pipeline and platform development. Working across all of the research programmes we are currently running and all data types. In this role you will lead the development of tools, building analytical pipelines, design and deliver data infrastructure. You will be working with a scientifically diverse team with varied backgrounds including cell biology, molecular biology and pharmacology for example.

Lead the development of pipelines for the processing of data generated from Whole Genome Sequencing and Metabolomics.
Develop methods for the comprehensive analysis of large metabolomic and microbiome datasets.
Create insights into microbial ecology and communities
Contribute to research programmes through the analysis of data and reporting of findings.
Work with a collaborative team on a diverse range of projects covering different scientific disciplines and data sets
Contribute to the design of studies and propose your own ideas for research programmes.

D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Metabolomics or related field.
Research experience in the Microbiome (bacteria and viruses) with expertise in the human gut microbiome advantageous.
Demonstrable experience of bioinformatics programming languages (Python, R etc.) and ability to handle large data sets and workflow management.
Extensive experience in large scale metabolomic and microbiome data analysis.
Experience in the analysis of Whole Genome Sequencing data
Experience as a Post Doc and / or Industry
