We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Data Scientist to join our Product & Tech division. As part of a cross-functional team, you will apply cutting-edge approaches to multimodal data integration for drug discovery applications.

Job Description
  • The ideal candidate will provide domain expertise and disseminate best practices in biomedical data processing within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will work with software engineers to productionize informatics logic and algorithms powering user-facing tools applied in BAI drug discovery programmes.
  • Quality control checks will be implemented to maintain scientific and technical data integrity.
  • Contributions will be made towards defining consistent best practices for data integration pipelines.
  • Collaboration and communication across product, technology, and drug discovery disciplines will be essential to achieve BenevolentAI strategic goals.
Requirements
  • A PhD in bioinformatics, statistics, or computational biology with industrial experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, with the ability to adapt to Python.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline systems, database query languages, and/or Apache Spark.
  • Experience working with various biomedical data types, including Gene Ontology, Reactome, Chembl, text mining/NLP, and analysis of primary datasets.
  • Developing computational methods to derive novel insights from data supporting the drug discovery process.
  • Excellent communication skills, sharing knowledge between scientific and engineering disciplines.
Salary and Benefits
